Photoshop Tutorial - Reflection

In this quick and easy tutorial I will teach you how to make a reflection of an object. It could be anything, but I'm going to use text.




Step 1:
Open a new canvas, decide your size, and write your text in it.

Now duplicate the text layer (Ctrl + J) , and press Ctrl + T. Right click and choose: 'Flip Vertical'.
When you have done that, just move your text down so that its under your original text layer.

Now that we have our 'reflection', we are going to gloss it up a little bit.




Step 2:
Add a layer mask to your reflection layer by clicking on this little icon:













Now take out a white to transparant gradient. (If you dont know all these things, go here: http://www.mediacollege.com/adobe/photoshop/transparent/gradient.html )


Just experiment with it a bit, the lowest part of the reflection text should get covered with white.


Optional step 4:
I have lowered the opacity down a bit to get a more realistic view.
